  • She showed off her toned abs while posing in a stunning, barely-there dress with cutouts.

Between her book, Love, Pamela, which debuted on January 31 and her new Netflix documentary, Pamela, A Love Story, Pamela Anderson has been baring it all lately. The 55-year-old star recently took to Instagram to reveal more than just her toned abs, sharing thoughts on aging and beauty in a new bare-faced photoshoot that fans absolutely loved.

In the first shot, Anderson wore a thin, form-fitting, floor-length gown with a large cutout from her hip to her stomach, showing off her toned abs. The following photos zeroed in on her radiant, makeup-free complexion where the star showed off her freckles.

Though she’s revealed her favorite concealer and other beauty products in the past, she says these days she likes going “without makeup.”

“I’d rather show my freckles…It’s fun getting old. It’s a relief. And at a certain age we just look younger and fresher without makeup,” she wrote. “This is me—I’m happy with who I am right now. It’s a new world and I’m very grateful for all of the love.”

Zendaya just resurrected this controversial makeup trend on the SAG Awards red carpet

Zendaya may not have snagged Best Female Actor in a Drama Series at this year’s SAG Awards but she did take home the trophy for 2023’s best beauty look. Think: Cosmo’s unofficial official crowning… and IMO, rightfully so, too!

At the 29th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards that took place overnight [26 February] at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California, stars walked the walk (read: red carpet) in head-to-toe glam. Zendaya, however, stole the spotlight with her newly cut bob that had been styled in the most effortless curls and voluminous side part. See! She’s proving that short hair can be versatile!

The actor’s hairstylist for the night, Tai Simon opted for a 1950s Old Hollywood feel and mastered the vintage look with the use of OGX Beauty products. Shop the entirety of all Tai used below.

Oh, and just in case you missed the details, Zendaya took to her Instagram to share an up-close look at her equally stunning makeup, created by artist, Raoúl Alejandre. The soft blush eye, matching flushed cheek and glossy pink lip are all one to note, however, the stand-out has to be her lower lash falsies.

The individual clusters very much resemble long spider legs (in the best way possible, ofc) but are also a marmite makeup trend that has caused debate since the dawn of time… and by dawn of time, I mean the early 2010s. The look involves smothering on layers of mascara until your lashes gather into little clumps – and as expected, some aren’t huge fans of the effect but for others, it’s a go-to for helping to draw attention to the eyes.

To layer mascara or to not layer mascara, there’s no denying that Zendaya turned up and

Can you use the microwave to clean makeup sponges? | Life and style

The hack
Blasting your makeup sponges to get them squeaky clean.

The test
I’m ashamed to admit this, but my makeup-sponge washing leaves a lot to be desired. When my makeup artist friend Zoe Moore came over, she got rather upset at the sight of my sponges. “What colour were these before?” she said on seeing two dark brown lumps of foam.

I have tried washing them but they just never clean that well, so when I do give them a rinse – every fortnight or so – it’s half-arsed to say the least. Zoe took the sponges, rinsed them, put them in a bowl of water with some liquid soap and then microwaved them for a minute – which tallies with methods I’ve seen online. When they emerged super clean, it blew my mind to see that they are actually neon pink (who knew?).

Zoe lectures me about what I already know: you should clean them after every use, especially if you have acne, as they can harbour bacteria. But now I know it’s this easy, I’ll certainly start doing it far more often.

The verdict
You can, of course, just rinse the sponges in soapy water and leave them to dry. But the dopamine hit from seeing them so clean is absolutely worth it for me. Just be careful not to obliterate them in the process.

Bridal makeup 101: Kiara Advani’s makeup artist reveals how she gets the perfect base

Hugs, kisses, sweets and tears–makeup goes through a lot on the wedding day. And for bridal makeup to last the whole event and the emotions it brings, you need a perfect base.

“For brides-to-be, the skin definitely needs to be prepped way in advance and taken very good care of to make sure that it feels and looks naturally plush and hydrated. Be it bridal or any other event, the base has to be impeccable, and only then can one do justice to the eye makeup and the rest. My go-to mantra is less is more. Indian brides spend a lot of time in front of the fire, so the makeup should not be a hindrance. It should be as light as possible and totally waterproof as you can’t do touchups in between pheras,” says celebrity makeup artist Lekha Gupta, who created the dreamy bridal makeup looks of actor Kiara Advani this month.

How deep is your base?

Depending on the skin type, Gupta likes to shift between massages, rollers, icing or sheet masks for prep. And not just on D-day, she suggests that you indulge in these rituals months in advance. On the day, a bit of icing before makeup always helps. Her next important step is a primer, which serves as an additional layer of protection while providing adherence to makeup products. For extremely dry skin, use a hydrating moisturizer or primer. Even oil helps, Gupta’s favourite is the Danessa Myricks beauty oil. For oily skin, you will need mattifying primers and moisturizers. “We also sometimes use a pore filler as a primer to ensure the skin looks velvety smooth, especially for brides who have visible open pores. A lip balm can prep the lips. I don’t always use an eye primer. Instead, I use a nude

Tips for choosing a wedding makeup artist | Life

A wedding gives couples a chance to shine and celebrate their love for one another. Naturally, all eyes are on the happy couple on their wedding day, and that means brides and grooms want to look their best. For those planning to wear makeup, relying on a skilled makeup artist can make a big difference in how couples look in videos and photographs.

Professional makeup artists will be acquainted with techniques that can enhance individuals’ looks on their wedding day. Makeup artists recognize which products to use to ensure a flawless face lasts all day. This person also can take the pressure off the bride having to do makeup herself, meaning the bride can sit back and relax for a half hour or more and enjoy being pampered. Techniques like lash applications, contouring and highlighting require skill, and skilled makeup professionals are well-trained in these areas.

When shopping around for makeup artists, couples with limited knowledge of what to expect can look for certain factors to help them make the most informed decision.

Professional products

There may be a stark difference between cosmetics and beauty products purchased at the drug store and the professional-grade items used by makeup artists. Professional products have been engineered for specific applications. They tend to be long-wearing and luxurious. Look for a makeup artist who uses top-notch brands.

Trial application

A bride’s vision and the makeup artist’s vision may not be one and the same. Only after a trial application can you determine if the makeup artist is able to deliver the look you desire. It’s important for a bride-to-be to go to the trial appointment with an open mind and reserve judgment until the application is complete. A professional can make suggestions on a color palette and products that will complement skin tone

Recreate Alia’s Bronze Makeup Under 2k

Alia Bhatt’s makeup is always minimal. So when she chose to go all out glamm, I had to make a note. The Gangubai Kathiawadi lead attended an awards show and brought ‘sexy’ back with a bronze makeup look.

Her makeup features bronze eyeshadow, bronzed skin, and a glossy lip. She totally slayed the look and still managed to make it appear minimal, even though it is quite bold for her.

I’ve attempted to recreate her look on a budget of just ₹ 2,000. Check it out!

Step 1: Velvet Matte Skin

Alia’s skin is soft and matte as opposed to the cult-loved dewy finish these days. I’ve used a mattifying primer to blur out my pores and then blended on a matte foundation that also offers skincare.

The MyGlamm Super Serum Foundation gives me the most beautiful second-skin coverage.

Step 2: Chiselled Visage

Her face looks expertly contoured. A cream-based contour product works best for that. I prefer to use a foundation stick in a darker shade because it is easy to blend.

The MyGlamm POSE HD Foundation Stick is my go-to product to get this sculpted effect.

Step 3: Bronze Eyes

Now for the winning feature of her makeup – the eyes. Alia has a bronze eyeshadow blended across her lids and a glittery nude eyeshadow applied at the inner corners and along the crease of her lids. The look is completed with a thin line of kajal on her water lines and mascara.

The POPxo Makeup Collection 12 Eyeshadow Kit – Squad Goals has all the shades I need to recreate this eye makeup.

Step 4: Glossy Lips

Alia opted for a glossy nude lip to complete her makeup look. I think it is a stunning choice for a glamm evening. I’m lining my lips with a

How to hide open pores with makeup

makeup 2

Photo used for illustrative purposes.

Large or open pores are like unwelcome guests at a wedding that we despise. Most people appear to be determined on getting their pores to vanish. Unfortunately, your pores will not instantly disappear. They can, however, appear to have vanished with the help of a thorough skincare routine and a few crucial beauty techniques.

Before starting any makeup you must follow some skincare regime, that is cleanse your face thoroughly with a good face wash, use a Vitamin C face serum, moisturize your face very well, and while going out apply a very good sunscreen. Follow these step by step and then start the makeup.

Primer is your BFF

One of the finest magic tricks for huge pores is primer. Rather than having your makeup stick to your face and pores, use a primer to bridge a barrier between your skin and your makeup. You’ll be pore-free in seconds with the correct primer! A primer, however, accomplishes more than that. A primer also fades the skin, making it look more perfect. This is essential for big, open pores!

Matte-base foundation

Foundations with a dewy finish may make large pores appear larger. Foundation layers are like a fluid and have a smoothing finish to conceal flaws such as large pores and unequal skin texture. Its lengthy formulation is waterproof and sweatproof, so you don’t have to worry about smearing your makeup all day to hide your large pores.

Conceal with concealer

After your matte foundation, a matte concealer can assist you to cover your huge pores even better. Apply just a few dots to areas that require extra coverage and mix the product in with a dampened makeup sponge. When applying cream products, a blending sponge will provide smooth coverage, but a brush may highlight your

4 beauty trends you can buy from the runways

Some of the makeup trends on the runways at Milan Fashion Week F/W 2023.

— Recommendations are independently chosen by Reviewed’s editors. Purchases you make through the links below may earn us and our publishing partners a commission.

In a nutshell, Milan Fashion Week took a simple stance on beauty. The primary hairstyles of choice consisted of the slicked-back bun and pin-straight hair, but the makeup looks offered more variety. From the heavily-lined eyes at Etro to the pastel-tonal eyelashes at Prada, Milan’s beauty looks offered makeup inspiration that you may want to try this year.

Make smart choices without hours of googling. Subscribe to The Checklist newsletter for expert product advice and recommendations.

1. Colorful eyelashes at Prada

Models at Prada—including Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner (left to right)—strutted down the runway wearing colorful eyelashes.

Prada took a minimalistic approach to makeup—except when it came to the lashes. Models wore a medley of pastel colors, such as pink, light blue and yellow. We’re assuming the models wore pairs of false eyelashes, but to create a similar look, consider trying a tinted mascara. To pull inspiration from Gigi Hadid’s pink lashes, reach for a warm-toned mascara, such as the Dior Diorshow Iconic Overscurl Mascara in “664 Brique” (brick red). The formula also promises to deliver “spectacular curl and volume.”

$30 at Dior

Meanwhile, if you’re aiming to achieve Kendall Jenner’s blue-tinted lashes, we recommend going with the Reviewed-approved Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara in “Nola” (deep blue). Our tester, Brigitt Earley, commended the formula for providing “dramatic length, definition and curl that instantly creates the look of lash extensions.” She says two coats is all you need to get a pair of lashes that could easily compete with falsies.

2. “No-makeup makeup” at Tod’s

Models at Tod's—including Irina Shayk (left)—seemingly embraced a "no-makeup makeup" look.

Tod’s seemed to call for fresh, bare faces at its fall/winter 2023 runway show. To recreate the look at home, we recommend starting with a rich moisturizer to give
