Smash-And-Grab Burglar Makes Off With Jewelry In Point Pleasant

POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Point Pleasant police are seeking tips in connection with a smash-and-grab burglary at a jeweler on Bridge Avenue.

The burglary happened about 4:45 a.m. Friday at Lee Richards Jewelers, 2243 Bridge Ave.

Police were alerted by a burglar alarm at the store and found the store’s front glass door had been shattered. The burglar had gotten into the store and stolen an undisclosed amount of jewelry, but the person was gone by the time police arrived.

Investigators gathered surveillance video from the area and evidence at the scene, police said.

Authorities believe the burglary is connected to several recent burglaries in other Ocean and Monmouth county towns.
