Johnny Depp signs new seven-figure deal with Dior

Johnny Depp has reportedly signed a new seven-figure deal with Dior.

The Pirates Of The Caribbean star has “re-upped” his contract with the French luxury brand to reflect a “seven-figure” agreement for the actor to continue as the face of Dior’s Sauvage fragrance, a source told E! News.

Depp has worked with Dior as the ambassador for men’s fragrance Sauvage since 2015. After the product became the best-selling item on Sephora and Ulta’s websites earlier this year, the 59-year-old allegedly renegotiated his contract with the brand.

The Wall Street Journal reported in June that Sauvage became a best-selling product during Depp’s recent defamation trial with his ex-wife Amber Heard, which he won.

In June, a jury found Heard liable for defamation over her 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which she described herself as a “public figure representing domestic abuse”. In the ruling, Heard was also awarded damages over an alleged “online smear campaign” against her.

Dior has continued to post Depp’s face and testimonials on its Instagram during the reported contract renewal.

In a post earlier this week, the brand posted photos of Depp backstage at a concert in Paris, captioned, “Fearless yet human, just like Sauvage.”

And in a video shared on the social media account, Depp can be heard saying, “Sauvage brings me a lot of memories, a lot of shows… Things that you smelled growing up that if I smell it, it takes me right back and I see the person that used to wear it.

“It’s a sense memory, so a smell can make you travel.”

Johnny Depp to return as face of Dior’s Sauvage after suit

It smells like things are looking up for Johnny Depp.

The depp-signs-new-deal-diorsauvage-fragrance-cologne/”“Pirates of the Caribbean” alum, 59, seems to still be on an upswing after winning his defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard earlier this summer, in part thanks to the multi-year contract he just signed with Dior, TMZ reports.

The reportedly 7-figure deal will see the three-time Oscar nom — who originally signed with the fashion house in 2015 — resume his role as the face of the company’s Sauvage scent for men, the outlet has learned.

Dior Beauty took to Instagram Monday, in a partnered post with Depp, to share fashion photographer Greg Williams’ black and white stills of him ahead of recently taking to the stage with Jeff Beck in Paris.

“Fearless yet human, just like Sauvage,” the caption reads.

The images shot by Williams will reportedly be utilized in a new campaign for Dior, insiders told TMZ.

Though Depp’s ad for the cologne disappeared from TV following Heard’s allegations of abuse, they eventually returned to the small screen even before Depp’s win.

The former couple’s tumultuous relationship took center stage earlier this year in a weeks-long defamation trial that set the internet ablaze with all their dirty laundry as Depp sought $50 million and the “Aquaman” star, 36, sought $100 million in a countersuit.

A Virginia jury in June found that Heard’s 2018 Washington Post op-ed — in which she identified herself as “a public figure representing domestic

‘Dior would roll in his grave’

johnny-depp” data-ylk=”slk:Johnny Depp” class=”link “Johnny Depp has reportedly signed a multi-year, seven-figure contract with Dior.

The contract will see Depp pocket a reported US$1m (£868,000) for returning as the face of Sauvage fragrance for men.

To announce the deal, Dior posted a video of Depp on stage in Paris where he performed with Jeff Beck.

The caption of the post read: “Watch @johnnydepp as he takes the stage at @olympiahall in Paris, the legendary concert venue where he saw @vanessa.paradis and introduced his kids to @bobdylan. Like Sauvage, it represents the idea of something fearless yet human. By: @gregwilliamsphotography.”

While Depp had never been dropped by Dior during the defamation trial with ex-wife Amber Heard, which Depp won, the post is a sign that the brand intends to continue its relationship with the actor.

Fans were quick to comment on Dior’s post, with one person writing: “Love your support for Johnny.”

Another added: “Dior supporting legends,” while a third said: “Dior y’all real for stayin with JD the whole time.”

However, some fans of the brand weren’t so keen on the news, with one person on Twitter writing: “Christian Dior would roll in his grave knowing Johnny Depp is the ambassador for his fragrance. #BoycottDior.”

The video came after Dior posted teaser shots of the campaign showing Depp at the Paris show.

“Backstage at @olympiahall before the last show. Fearless yet human, just like Sauvage,” one set of images was captioned.

The brand included a quote from Depp on another post promoting the fragrance that read: “Sauvage brings me a lot of memories, a lot of shows. Things that you smelled growing up that if I smell it, it takes me right back and I see the person that used to wear it. It’s a
